Plan for the land Society workshops on “Introduction to responsible tourism and Designing and Planning Tourism Itineraries, responsible tourism for incoming tours”

Plan for the Land Society held “Developing a Responsible Tourism Offer: Designing and Planning Tourism Itineraries” workshop with cooperated with Iran Sebt Tour Agency and Naghsh Afarinesh Tourism Training Institute on 27 November 2021 at Municipality of Khamir Port in Hormozgan Provinces. Due to travel restrictions and the prevalence of corona, this workshop was held online at the same time. Bandar Khamir is a member of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.  

Participants including local authorities, tour guides, tour and travel agencies accommodation managers, and officials of tourism-related institutions attended this event which was organized as part of the DEVCO co-funded “Promoting Responsible Tourism for Sustainable Heritage Protection” project and aimed to raise awareness. The booklet of sustainable tourism prepared by P4L was provided to the attendees and a PDF file was sent to the attendees online (P4L_Sustainable Tourism Booklet ).

In this workshop, Dr. Ahmad Sebt Hosseini gave a presentation on developing tour packages and participated in responsible tourism strategies. He talked about identifying resources and considering local culture and local communities.  It was mentioned that improving responsible tourism will lead to creating more job opportunities and improving the life quality of local people.
