Visiting Imam Reza’s Holy Shrine

Due to the presence of Imam Reza , the eighth Imam of Shias, Mashhad is the destination of many pilgrims and more than four million pilgrims visiting the shrine each year. The Imam Reza shrine is a complex containing the mausoleum of Imam Reza. Within the complex there are the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a library, four seminaries, a cemetery, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.
