On 05th June 2020, at the Iranian Lenj Boat (Iranian Boom), Marina in Kish Island, Hormozgan province, an awareness building event was held, facilitated by the Plan for the Land Society project team, and attended by 15 participants from Local people and free zone of Kish Island.
This event was organized as part of the DEVCO co-funded “Promoting Responsible Tourism for Sustainable Heritage Protection” and aimed to raise public awareness, inform and engage the local community on the determinants and long-term economic benefits of heritage protection and responsible tourism with key stakeholders of Kish Island.
Key stakeholders participating in the event included Deputy for art, Cultural & Social Affairs Kish Free Zone, Kish Native Anthropology House, Head of cooperative fisheries Kish, City Council Kish, Oldest Captain of Kish, Captains of Kish, Founder of the Iranian Lenj. They play a role in reviving an indigenous tradition and cultural heritage.
