In the first section, we mention that the growing number of people traveling produces pressures, and negatively impacts the environment, resources, local communities, and cultural assets. Facing these challenges have made us redefine new principles for tourism in order to get better results for all stakeholders. Also, you can see the definition of sustainable tourism and its role as an accelerator in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. For instance, sustainable tourism has a direct impact on efforts to achieve goals, such as eradicating poverty, advancing gender equality and protecting the environment. Then, we talk about all stakeholders, including government at the national, subnational and local levels, the private sector, destinations and communities, NGOs, and tourists. In separate sections, we define in more details what the role of these stakeholders is.
